The Project

The project aims to achieve a transformational shift in TVET by 2021. Learners shall gain access to TVET and graduate from quality-assured and labour market-responsive TVET programs under a more effective TVET management. This objective shall be reached through three strategies: by i) expanding access to TVET for various target groups; ii) strengthening the quality and relevance of TVET; and iii) strengthening TVET management.

The project is funded by KfW and will be implemented in two components. During the first two years TVET equipment will be procured for three of the four sites, while the school in Sinde will receive a photovoltaic system only. Further, through in-depth assessments and cooperation with other stakeholders, such as GIZ, an accompanying measures concept must be developed which shall be implemented during the second component in year three and four. The accompanying measures comprise TVET trainings.

 

Your Main Duties in this Position

  • Responsible for the overall management and implementation of the project
  • Technically responsible for all TVET specific activities (training needs assessment, accompanying measures concept development, curricula development etc.)
  • TVET equipment planning, in cooperation with other experts
  • Liaison and cooperation with other stakeholders, e.g. GIZ
  • Liaison with the client (Ministry of Industry [MoI] and Ministry of Education [MoE])

 

Your Expertise / Profile

  • Work experience as Team Leader in similar TVET projects in Myanmar or in the region
  • Experience with procurement of TVET equipment
  • Fluent language skills (oral and written) in English
  • Experience with KfW financed projects
  • Report writing skills

 

Time Schedule / Duration of Assignment

The four years project is scheduled to start around April 2018.

The duration of your assignment in this role is set on intermittent basis; the exact assignment times are subject to project needs.
