The “Forest and Biodiversity Management in the Himalaya” programme, funded by KfW Development Bank, supports the Government of Nagaland in the effective and sustainable management of Community Conserved Areas (CCAs) in selected landscapes in Nagaland for improved connectivity and conservation of biodiversity, while supporting forest dependent communities in their livelihoods. The programme will have a duration of up to 8 years, comprising a 1-year inception phase, a 4-year implementation phase, and a 3-year consolidations phase.
Main Duties of the Team
The PMC will comprise one long-term Chief Technical Advisor (CTA), one long-term assistant CTA and various other long- and short-term advisors and consultants. Collectively, the team will cover the following areas of expertise:
1. Biodiversity conservation and protected area management
2. Participatory community-based natural resource management, land-use planning, livelihoods and
3. Sustainable conservation financing, including ecosystem services valuation
4. Capacity building for community, civil society and local government
5. Project management including financial management and procurement
6. Monitoring and evaluation
7. Remote sensing/GIS
Expertise / Profiles
- Team members should have substantial relevant professional experience, including experience in the region.
- Experience with German Financial Cooperation / KfW desired
Time Schedule / Duration of Assignment
The programme will have a duration of up to 8 years, comprising a 1-year inception phase, a 4-year implementation phase, and a 3-year consolidation phase.
